The first song required is the entrance or aisle song for when the bride and her bridesmaids walk into the ceremony to meet the groom and groomsmen already waiting at the end of the aisle.  The traditional Wagner’s Bridal Chorus (Here comes the bride) is rarely used these days, often replaced by Canon in D Pachelbel by those looking for a classical entrance piece.

Couples will mostly choose a downtempo song for the aisle entrance. Also ensure that your entrance song is long enough to cover your entire walk in and up the aisle.  Its a good idea to practice timing your entrance so you can get a rough idea of how long you need.  Your dj should be able to edit the song to make it longer if required.

There are also acoustic and piano or string covers of many popular songs which may be more suitable than the original version.

The next song required is for the signing of the register.  Its a good idea to choose two songs for the register signing as it often takes longer than 3-4 minutes.  Remember that this is in the middle of the wedding ceremony so music choices are generally quite downtempo for the register signing.  Your dj may also be able to supply instrumental or acoustic versions of songs you would like to use.

Please see below for some ceremony and register signing song suggestions that I have used before at wedding ceremonies…

The final song selection is for immediately after the ceremony, where you go back down the aisle to meet your friends and family, often known as the recessional. This can be a more upbeat selection as its the beginning of the celebrations after the wedding.
